In this week’s episode of Tying Tuesdays, watch as Max Pavel ties the Pav’s Pupae! “This is a sneaky little midge pattern that should work on any watershed that you fish. When wet the CDC bonds to the body making it look like the wings sprouting off the thorax. The color scheme can be altered for a closer match to the invertebrates in your waterways. It’s a great pick for your tailwaters and stillwaters. I would stay in the size range of 14-24. Some other hooks to try would be the Ahrex FW530, Firehole 718, or Umpqua 200R. There is something to be said about simple patterns being some of the most effective.” – Max Pavel
