Tying the Gunpowder Hopper
Created in 2020 for fishing on the Gunpowder River in Maryland, this deceptively simple grasshopper pattern has become one of my go-to summer terrestrials.
Hook: #10 3x long curved shank (or to match your hoppers)
Thread: Olive
Tail: Single brown goose biot
Body: 2mm olive foam
Underbody: Ice dub, peacock or green
Legs: Barred flutter legs (or equivalent)
Indicator: White foam (optional)
