Dear viewer, now you have the opportunity to support the channel and Ívar for all the effort, time and work he has put in to make this channel what it has become for the community. You can also support the channel with the PayPal link below, or hit the SuperLike button!

Here we will be tying the Olli Bugger fly by mr. Jón Sigurðsson. The fly is a great option for both stream and lake fishing, for trout, seatrout and Arctic char. This fly has a story about it’s name. You can find this fly in an Icelandic book called “Veiðiflugur Íslands”. There it’s named Olli Bugger too and has the pattern with it and a picture of it. There’s reason for the name of the fly and a story I’m gonna tell you. To begin with, Olli Bugger is a hybrid or a mix of two flies. The famous Woolly Bugger and the Woolly Worm fly. Jón Sigurðsson made this hybrid fly and named it Olli Bugger, after his fishing partner mr. Olgeir Andrésson. Olgeir fished with Jón in Laxá in Mývatnssveit and many other places. As a matter of fact, Olgeir is not only a good fishing partner, but also an outstanding photographer, one of the best in Iceland. You can see his website in this link here:

However the Olli Bugger fly hasn’t got really the attention it may deserve, it’s one of those flies that you don’t see people use much nowadays. Therefore to save it and the knowledge about, I decided to make this video on it! Olli Bugger could be your next secret weapon! I’d recommend it in the sizes 6,8 & 10.
