How to tie the Gorman Egg for Fly Fishing

Thread – Semperfli Nano Silk 12/0 White
Tag – Hends Effect Green
Body – Semperfli Body Rib Fl-Orange
Hackle – Troutline March Brown

To be honest I have never had much success fishing egg patterns on either Stillwaters or Rivers. I saw this pattern on Facebook and it immediately caught my eye. Tied by Deb Paskall who is based in Canada. Iam told it is a super effective fly in Canada and also in the US.

I have doctored it slightly hiding the weight within the body material. I can’t wait to give this one a go under the bung on a small Stillwater and it will definitely be getting a swim the next time I visit the river. A fly that will find a place in both my River and Stillwater boxes, if it catches ;-)
