01/05/2022/i Video, Video - Flytying /af Ivars Fly Workshop

Green Weenie is a classic attractor pattern that’s just plain old and catches fish. Some like to call it an inch worm, large uncased caddis, extended body caddis or just whatever you like. It works and it’s so very simple to tie it. It appeared in the USA around the 1950’s originally and was given life again in the Pennsylvania hatch magazine back in 1989. The man behind this pattern was Russ Mowerey, from western Pennsylvania, USA. The pattern have given me both brown trout and Arctic char here in Iceland and one seatrout as well. One follower said “The fly has saved a lousy outing into an epic event”. It’s very simple to tie and totally worth keeping a few in your box when you go fishing.
