Fly Tying Tutorial: Hogan’s Summer Topwater Baitfish
Captain Hogan Brown’s Summer Topwater Baitfish fly is a popper style pattern that moves a lot of water and still casts great. It was designed to imitate smaller male shad as they broadcast spawn in the surface of Northern California rivers in the early Summer months, but can be also used to mimic any baitfish, frogs, or other prey in your local waters.
