Fantastical Fly Tying Tutorial
Looking back through 2016 and 2017 there was one pattern that put more fish in the net for me in the spring/summer than any other fly, the Fantastical Fly. It’s a generic terrestrial pattern that is highly visible, easy to tie, and catches fish. I have landed brook, rainbow, and brown trout, smallmouth and largemouth bass, and a host of sunfish species here in Virginia. The clip at the end is my little sister landing her first smallmouth, on her first cast. The fly? None other than the Fantastical Fly.
