Dr. James Henshall and a Forgotten Black Bass Fly
Created by Dr. James Alexander Henshall, the “Apostle of the black bass,” sometime in the late 1800s, the Henshall is the only pattern that bears his name. Originally tied as a smallmouth bass fly, the pattern has proven effective for many species of fish.
