CDC Elk Hair Caddis

One of the simplest dry flies you can tie, but also one of the most effective. I’ll use this when there is no obvious hatch and I’m simply prospecting the likely holding spots. The fly works year-round.

Hook: #10-20 dry fly
Thread: Brown
Body: Natural or tan CDC
Wing: Elk hair (or deer hair)
