A Southerly Change & Big, Gorgeous, Rising Brown Trout

In this video we start the day peak of summer conditions but awaiting a COLD southerly change. Opposite the northern hemisphere, southerlies in New Zealand come shooting off the south Tasman, often heavily Antarctic influenced. And what was a hot, perfect summer morning turns to late fall weather. We planned for it (mostly) and found ourselves taking on a series of wonderful brown trout before fighting clouds, glare, cold, soaking rain, and some off-angled hook sets on big male brown trout. We held out, held on, worked through the southerly change. And in so taking it on we were rewarded in so many different ways. A stunner of a day fishing dry flies and dropper nymphs to stunning brown trout!
