Tying a BH Steelhead Hammer Fly pattern (Simple Version) – Episode 13 Piscator flies
The Steelhead hammer might be a nymph or an egg or an egg-sucking nymph! Whatever it is, steelhead like the Steelhead Hammer a lot. There are two major versions of this Steelhead Hammer. The Orvis pattern that has a woven body with a wingcase in the thorax, and this simpler version. I’m all for simple flies especially when I’m bound to loose a lot on the river bottom.
