Fly Tying the Darbee Stonefly Nymph (Classic Catskill Nymph)

Created sometime in the 1930s by Harry Darbee of New York, Darbee’s Stonefly is an excellent golden stonefly nymph imitation.

Hook: #4-12 2-3x long
Thread: Brown
Tail: Pheasant tail fibers, two
Rib: Brown D-rib or monofilament
Body: Amber seal’s fur (or sub)
Wingcase: Jungle cock eyes
Legs: Partridge
