Tying the SS Shuttlecock
This is a simple little emerger fly pattern. I find that the snowshoe hare that is available is usually washed to the point that it loses most of the natural floatant, so a little gink in the wing is needed to keep the fly afloat. The abdomen is tied with larger thread and coated with cement. the thread is switched out to finish the pattern.
