Inspired from a pattern by Charles Krom in “The American Fly Tyer’s Handbook” from 1979, this pattern uses a thread technique to make a decent imitation of a quill bodied fly.
Hook: #10-16 1-2x long
Tail: Peccary, or any stiff hair
Body: Dark brown, tan and white thread
Wingcase: Duck, turkey or goose slip
Thorax: Cream fox or rabbit dubbing
