How To Make A Furled Leader
Using furled leaders on the flats can help a huge amount for some of the larger species such as milkfish and bumnphead parrotfish. Not only do they have built in abrasion resistance, but they are naturally tapered if tied correctly aiding in presentation. In this video Wesley De Klerk from FlyCastaway demonstrates his methods for tying furled leaders.
In this demonstration we are using a doubled up leader of 1.8m in length (total 3.6m), 4 strand at 40cm and then 70cm to the second strand.
