How to catch bumphead parrotfish on the fly – Part 1
Bumphead parrotfish, or “bumpies”, are one of the most unusual fish to target on a fly. They are perhaps the largest species that can be caught tailing on the flats and offer a real challenge to the fly angler. In this first video Wesley de Klerk from FlyCastaway and I sit down to chat about the species, environment and tackle set ups.
Part 2 will look at tidal phases, tactics, approach, presentation, hook, strike and fight and landing these behemoths.
