Fly Tying Dan Blanton’s Fatal Attraction Fly Pattern – Piscator Flies Episode 75
Dan Blanton’s Fatal Attraction is a simple fly pattern but quite effective for bass, pike, trout and even saltwater fish. The wing is tied over the top of the collar so that the wing doesn’t foul around the hook bend. The Flashabou on the fly is a replacement for the spinner blade on a lure.
You can add some weight to the pattern under the flat braid, but it isn’t necessary. The fly can be fished either on the river or still waters. For fishing on rivers, a down and across presentation is suggested. Use short 2-4 inch strips on stillwater.
The fly can be tied in a number of colors such as the white (seen here), fire tiger, chartreuse & white, etc
