Hollow surf candy – saltwater streamer
I wanted to tie a surf candy, but with a little weight. However I didn’t want to use dumbbell eyes, or a cone head as that will change the look of the head of the fly. So I tried it with a bead, and something new came about! I am really excited about this pattern, the technique used here can be applied to a wide variety of flies and materials, but I really like it with this surf candy style fly. The bead helps flair out the materials and gives a wider profile to the fly.
