I recently asked my friends in America to suggest some patterns that they use over the pond that we here in Europe maybe missing out on. There were many of the patterns that I had not heard of or were simply known by different names here in Europe. One of the patterns that came up more than once was Lance Egan’s Tungsten Surveyor. @Lance Egan is a regular member of the US World fly fishing team and is well known in the States for his range of effective fishing flies.
Although I did not have the materials to tie the pattern to his specifications I have come up with this slight variation whilst trying to stay true to the original pattern. It’s an easy tie and will work in various sizes all the way down to #16. Let me know what you think in the comments section below, would you fish it?
