Created by Don Roberts and found in Raymond Scott Stetzer’s “Flies, the best 1,000” this is an easy-to-tie midge pattern that can be effective in any water where midges are present.

Hook: #12-16 dry fly
Thread: Black
Tail: Grizzly hackle fibers
Body: Grizzly feather quill
Thorax: Black ostrich herl
Wing: Grizzly hackle tips
Throat: Deer hair, sparse
