Fly Tying a Skunk Caddis (Nymph Fly Pattern)

From David Klausmeyer’s “101 Favorite Nymphs and Wet Flies,” the Skunk Caddis nymph pattern is a pretty simply caddis imitation that should be effective in any waters with black or dark caddis flies.

Hook: #8-12 nymph
Thread: Black
Rib: Copper wire
Body: Skunk tail (or buck tail substitute)
Hackle: Black hen
