When everyone is hanging up their waders and stuffing away their rods, fish are still eating. Winter is one of my favorite times to fly fish. Anglers have abandoned the rivers awaiting warmer days, and for those who dare to brave the elements solitary waters await.

Cold days was filmed on the Provo and Weber rivers last winter. We were french nymphing with tungsten nymphs to get in the zone where fish hang out in the winter. There are tying instructions and videos for these flies at flytying123.com. If you’re not into tying flies you can purchase tungsten nymphs tied by Rainy’s at your favorite local fly shop.
