Ahrex – Brenda

Many years ago, a group of Danish fly tyers met for some cozy fly tying. One of the tyers was Ove Monrad who sat down and created several upcoming classic danish coastal flies during that weekend, but haven’t put a name on the flies at that time. In the background there were a television, and when the theme for Beverly Hills 90210 came up, his fly series “90210” was named, and the different actors gave names for the flies that had left his vice.

One of the flies was named Brenda – after one of the series’ actors, and who has subsequently become a new danish classic on the coasts, and has in the following years fooled fish all over the world and continues to do so. The shiny body and the metal bead provide a nice jigging movement and a unique shine of colors, that really can trigger the fish. We have once again had the Danish fly tying and fishing guide Jesper Lindquist Andersen behind the vice to demonstrate this effective coastal fly.
