  • A Blue Bear streamer

13/09/2022/i Video, Video - Streamers /af Savage Flies

Why aren’t there more blue trout flies? I have no idea. And while not part of our 2022 name-the-streamer holiday series, this unnamed blue streamer has had a little bit of success for me.

If you have a hard time finding brown or cinnamon colored bear hear, a decent substitute will be craft fur or some of your finer natural bucktail for the topping.

    Hook: #6-10 3x long
    Thread: Black
Tail: White marabou (or wool yarn)
    Rib: Silver Mylar tinsel, small
    Body: Blue floss
Wing: Cinnamon bear over black bear

If you would like to support my mission of giving back to the fly tying community, consider picking up some logo merchandise at:

And if you shop at Amazon, please consider using the following Amazon storefront for any purchases. (The channel makes a small percentage of sales when purchased through these links.)

Savage Flies is a project with the mission of encouraging and teaching fly tying to as many people as possible. The channel is named after one of my western Maryland homewaters, the Savage River. Thanks for stopping by.
